Biarritz is famous for its coast, so the main places the tourists gather are the beaches. But if you get bored of the beach, the town also has two golf courses not to mention a wonderful view of the Basque landscape.

• La Grand Plage

Info: Biarritz’s biggest beach is an excellent surfing spot as well as a spot for families and those who enjoy swimming and tanning.

 

• Cote de Basque

Info: Situated on Boulevard du Prince de Galles, this beach is mainly popular with long board surfers. The beach also hosts the annual Surf Pro Festival, a gathering of pro surfers around the globe competing in an Olympic like event.

 

• The Town Centre

Info: Walking around the town centre is like walking inside a great garden, as the town reduced its vehicle traffic and made way for pedestrians. Here you can find the areas of Les Halles and Jules Ferry, the latter being a garden museum with a wide selection of botanical marvels. Also near the town center you’ll be able to find the Le Phare golf course, a par 69 of 5,402m course, spreading over 34 hectares.
